6th Man Movers was founded in 2013 by Jacob Greer, a Memphis native turned Nashville transplant. Having moved furniture for a friend’s father’s moving company in Memphis growing up, it’s a business Jacob knew well and enjoyed, so he jumped when he had the opportunIty to start his own business. A perpetual problem solver, Jacob enjoys helping others—especially when it comes to moving day—arguably one of the most stressful days many of us encounter. More than just moving people from point A to B, Jacob enjoys the process of custom fitting the crews to a client’s specific needs and is a master at providing flexibility and understanding to help make the process as smooth as possible.

Behind the name

In basketball, the “Sixth Man” is a non-starting player who comes off the bench many times during a game helping to assist the starters. A sixth man helps their team win by being well-rounded and bringing multiple skills to the table. Much like the sixth man in basketball, 6th Man Movers is well rounded and prepared to assist you or your business with all of your moving needs—whether they be packing, loading, or providing a full-service move. The Fleet

The trucks are an integral part of our team, and have every bit as much personality and life as the rest of the company! 6th Man Movers uses a combination of our own trucks and leased trucks from Penske and Enterprise to supplement our fleet.
